Yangshuo is one of China’s most family friendly destinations. There’s dozens of activities to keep the kids happy and stimulated, as well as plenty to do for the parents whether they prefer things adventurous, relaxed or a bit of both. With beautiful rural karst mountain scenery and clean fresh air, Yangshuo is a perfect family holiday.
Day 1: Arrive YangshuoLunch
Arrive Yangshuo. Transfer from Guilin airport to your hotel in the centre of Yangshuo or in the surrounding countryside – just let us know your preferences for accommodation when you book. The drive takes approximately 75 minutes. A driver will be at the arrival terminal holding a Bike Asia sign with your name on it. We’ll meet you when you arrive in Yangshuo to go over the coming days, answer any questions you may have and orient you to the area. The rest of the day is free for you to explore. In the evening we’ll meet for a dinner featuring delicious Chinese dishes.
Day 2: HikingLunch 20 km
Guided by a local expert, you’ll cycle to Moon Hill, 7 kilometres from Yangshuo. We highly recommend the climb up to the top for the magnificent views of the valley and the surrounding karsts. Following lunch, we explore inside one of the local limestone karst caves. Depending on the age of your children options are a lit up cave featuring colourful stalagmites and stalactites or a water cave where you’ll be able to jump into mud baths, underground waterfalls and hot springs, so bring your bathers! We finish the day with a gentle ride back into Yangshuo town. In the evening we’ll visit the spectacular Liu San Jie Lightshow.
Day 3: CookingLunch 15 km
Today we kick off with a morning class at Yangshuo Cooking School, set in a beautifully renovated traditional mud-brick courtyard home in Chaolong village, where you’ll cook and eat your own local creations for lunch. Before the class you will be picked up at your hotel to take a visit to Yangshuo market before returning to Chaolong for your class. After the class you will be returned to your hotel to relax before we cycle to Fuli village. This ride takes us through beautiful countryside to the Li River where we cross by boat and settle in for a session of Chinese fan making with a local master. You’ll get to take your own hand painted design home with you. We’ll board a bamboo raft for the ride back to Yangshuo. The evening is yours to explore.
Day 4: Cycle then Bamboo Boat Ride on the Yu Long RiverLunch 20 km
Back on the bikes again for a ride along the bamboo-lined Dragon River, visiting the Ming Dynasty Dragon bridge. This is the most scenic area in Yangshuo region and gives you access to Chinese rural farm life at its most picturesque. After having lunch in a Farmer’s restaurant we’ll visit one of the local markets. The afternoon will be spent punting down the Yulong river on a bamboo raft before we jump on the bikes for the ride back to the hotel.
Day 5: Departure day
Departure day. You are free to leave any time today. If you have the time to extend your holiday, chat to us about staying on in Yangshuo or check out the many activities on offer.

What about Covid 19?
2020 has seen travel grind to a halt and the outlook going into 2021 looks to be more of the same. While we have suspended travel to most of our destinations we are operating tours in China for domestic travellers. We'll open up destinations as the stuation improves and only when travel is green lighted by the relevant health and government agencies.
Travelling during this time means adhering to mandated guidlines and practices which means having green codes enabled on your mobile phone apps, taking Covid tests, wearing masks where neccesary, and filling in contact and travel history forms. These rules and guidelines are constantly changing as situations regarding the virus change, so it is important to remain flexible. We'll inform you of the requirements when you book and leading into the tour departure date.
Given the situation as it is, please understand that cancellations are quite possible and are outside of our control. While we understand the frustrations this may present, we'll do our best to make things run as smooth as possible and keep you informed of any changes as they arise.
During this time we will only accept full payments for tours three weeks before departure. All payments, however, will be refunded in full if the tour is cancelled prior to departure, or your personal covid-related situation precludes you from commencing the tour. Please make sure when booking flights that they are aslo refundable in the event of a cancelation.
How to I make a booking and payment?

If you are booking onto an on demand tour and have your own dates in mind there will be an facility for you book here too.
Before you book, we recommend that you read through the tour details and our booking terms and conditions. You can contact us about the trip if you have any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org or set up a time to chat about the tour.
