"A foodie's leisurely bike tour on quaint back roads in the spectacular Yulong River Valley: sample famous Guilin mie fen (rice noodles), visit a market and rural villages to learn about local produce and farming, and cook your own feast of local dishes for lunch with a Chinese cooking class."

Tour Overview

We begin the day at our shop in Yangshuo at 8:00am where you'll meet your guide for the day.  After some locally produced tea or Yunnan grown coffee, we'll head out to a local noodle shop to see fresh noodles being handmade. Rice noodles go into the delicious Guilin mie fen, the staple dish across the region.

After setting up our bikes, we'll make our way through the backstreets to a local market where we'll explore the seasonal produce that is on offer.  A further gentle ride on a bike path takes us into the countryside and karst mountains to our cooking school in the picturesque Yulong River Valley.  Here you'll learn about Chinese cooking techniques and try your hand at cooking several dishes for lunch.  We'll contunue our ride through spires of limestone and secluded alleys, passing by ancient villages and rural farmland, taking in the highlights of the Yangshuo countryside and seeing local farmers tending their fields.  We end the day back in Yangshuo with a refreshing cold lemon tea to toast the end of our culinary adventure!

Start & Finish Point

We would normally reccomend starting all our Yangshuo local tours at the Bike Asia Shop in Yangshuo town centre.  This way we can fit you out with bikes that suit you, particualrly if you have children, or are unsure of what size or type of bike you prefer.  If you are happy for us to choose bikes for you, and it is more convenient, we can start and finish the tour at your hotel.  An added transfer fee is is applicable to have the bikes sent to your hotel.  Just let us know your preference when you book or chat to us about what the options are.
